'Tis the Season...

So what's everyone doing for x-mas? Is it gonna be a family event, a quiet time, frenzied, or no big deal?

On that vein, what wonderful things (if any) do you have planned for the new year?

For me? I usually volunteer to work that day/night (nursing) as I don't have kids, so willingly give it up for those that have kids. My other half and I will be doing dinner at friends before I work. On the other side of that coin is the fact that I get every newyears eve/day off. I'm sure we will be going out, partying as some place or another, and totally having fun! We usually get a nice hotel, park, and don't see the car until the next afternoon

As for the new year? I am returning to school to get the next level of my degree. I'm actually REALLY looking forward to returning now. I'm not rich, so will be working full time while doing it, but if the past is any indication, I usually thrive when back in school, so this should be no different

I hope that everyone has a safe and happy season whichever holiday you recognize!

Happy Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, etc etc.

Well as my older son lives out of state, and this year he came to visit for Thanksgiving. We did X-mas early this year.

My mom did suprise me very much by getting me a new motherboard and CPU (I think wife helped on that LOL)

But as far as the actual X-mas holiday goes, I am taking the Wife and mum down to Houston Texas. The Wife and I are going to see our favorite NHF football team play on Dec 24th. (we are taking mum to watch the baby LOL)

My mom has never been to Galveston Texas (about an hour drive from Houston, on the Texas Coast) so we are going to take her there. (lots of little shops and stuff to see, she will love it).

And I just found out today my work is giving us that friday off before the holidays, so now we will have an extra day to do stuff

Not to mention this is going to be my first road trip in the Jeep, so I am looking forward to it

Enjoy the road trip! I've only done the 1.5 hour drive so far, but once spring is here, I wanna get the tent that you can buy for the Compass, and go on a few 'weekend' trips as a totally self contained got it all kinda weekend!

Let me know how the tent works!! /wink

Sad to say I don't do much camping anymore like I use too, such a short window of good weather here to go camping in. And come summer time it's just way to hot, unless you spend over a day driving far away from the big city
