MPG report after long trip

I will try to keep this as short as possible. I left Greer, SC on Jan 5 for Myrtle Beach, SC. Returned to Greer on Jan 6th. Left Greer on Jan 7 for Erie, Pa and returned on Jan 11. I kept a record of every fillup and the mileage per. This involved 70+ mph traffic for a large portion of the time, as well as hills with 5 to 7% grades. 199.6 miles/7.41 gal = 26.93 mpg, 278.7 miles/10.277 gal = 27.11 mpg, 250.6 miles/10.123 gal = 24.5 mpg, 256.4 miles/10.187 gal = 25.17 mpg, 298.5 miles/11.04 gal = 27.03 mpg, 142 miles/6.074 gal = 23.37 mpg, 275.5 miles/11.4 gal = 24.16 mpg, 260.8 miles/10.128 gal = 25.77 mpg. Total: 1962.1 miles/76.639 gal = 25.60 mpg.
The Compass drives like a dream. I REALLY like it. It had 240 miles on the odometer when I started this trip, and I think the mileage will improve after further breakin time. In case you're interested, Regular gas prices were: Greer, SC $202.9; Myrtle Beach, SC $209.9; Bland, Va $209.9; Pittsburgh, Pa $229.9; Erie, Pa $229.9; Flatwoods, WV $233.9; Johnson City, Tn $208.9

Gas Mileage

My Compass is a Sport with CVT. I have 850 KM on it and I am averaging 9.8 L/100 KM or 24 MPG. This is all City driving as my wife is driving it and hasn't taken it on the highway yet.

I think when they say 30mpg, they are talking about the manual tranny. I bought the stick (my Matrix was a stick and when I drove the auto with the new tranny, CVT(?), I did not like it).
I've got a few hundred miles on mine and I am around 28-29mpg, still hoping for more. My Matrix probably averaged 32mpg, but with a 1.8L.
What's that around 12KM/L?

I averaged 32 IMP MPG on a 1500 mile trip this last summer in a 2.0 SXT CVT Caliber. Hated the CVT, loved the car. Thats about 27 US MPG

Wink

I have a 2007 2.4 CVT Compass, I usually average about 24 U.S. MPG. I don't drive fast I just don't slow down for the curves. This includes lots of hills one of which is a 7 percent grade. Also city and interstate driving. I'm happy. I put $30 in the other day and the Hummer at the next pump over looked like it was using gas faster than the owner could pump it.

The best for me so far has been 27.5 MPG. I'm getting 26 MPG pretty regularly now if I don't run the A/C. I do wish that this could be improved, and I think that it might be possible.

Since I put my scangauge in my jeep it says that I'm regularily driving at around 32mpg on the highway, 30 with the air. I also discovered that it only needs about 24hp to keep highway speed.

Everyday as a child i used to pray to God to give me a jeep. After a couple of years i realized that God did not work that way. So i stole a jeep and asked for HIS forgiveness
