2017 is a model changeover year, you have to specify whether you are talking about the first generation compass or the second generation.

You also have to specify 2WD or 4WD.

For the second generation Compass, the book says none of the models allow for recreational flat towing. They don't make any distinctions on automatic vs manual so its possible they overlooked the manual transmission version when putting their information together because USUALLY flat towing a manual trans vehicle is OK, but all I can tell you is the book says NO across the board, on all models, for the flat tow.

Dolly towing with the front wheels off the ground is only listed as acceptable for the FWD models, as you would expect. It says all 4x4 models require full trailer towing with all wheels off the ground.
