Tranny noises and cooling fan

ok 2007 Compass 155k on it.Some weird stuff going on and i think its the tranny , the tranny was supposedly rebuilt 5 k ago but by looking at it looks like a wreckers tranny and it was at Mister Transmission . i get some strange grinding noise and the vehicle slows down to where i have to pull over sit for a sec then away we go I thought sliders seized again so serviced those because it almost feels sounds like brakes grabbing and it random .So if anyone has had a tranny fail what noises were there ,and im aware of the whine when it heats up These grinding noises happen warm or cold

Question 2
I ve never heard the cooling fan ever come on in this thing the gauge hits 1/2and maybe a hair over ?

those CVT tranny's worth far more than the Compass. They can't be repaired, once failing or failed its a replace only option which is very costly due to the labour as well.

Bottom line is there should be no noises from it period.
