re fuel economy

Hey there fans,
I'm still on the fence about buying a Compass, hearing many different stories. I'm in Canada and the adds say for the Comapss north 4x4 2.4 litre, that the fuel economy should be 32 mpg City and 40 mpg Hwy

Is this true?
Waht about the the transmission CVT ???
I live in a town with lots of hills back and forth to work.

Can anyone advise?????

Re: re fuel economy

The only Compass that gets that kind of fuel economy is the diesel which is not available here or there....

You are not going to see more than 28 with the CVT2 with autostick on the 4x4. In the winter it will be less at around 24. Not a bad number but I wish we could get the diesel or a hybrid version....

Re: re fuel economy

As with all MPG ratings these should be taken with a grain of salt. I haven't seen any reported ratings get the MPG in the real world for any vehicle. I'm at about 27 MPG or 8.5 L per 100 ks. That 75% highway driving.

I don't get the mpg that the dealer said. But I'm pleased with the vehicles' proformance. I have 2007 sport with a manual transmission.

I am consistantly getting 26.5 MPG doing mostly 60 MPH driving. I have the 4 wheel drive CVT. I am pretty happy with that.

I'm still checking mine, but on a "bad day", I still seem to manage just about 26 MPG. On better conditions I am getting 27.5 MPG.

Read my other post. I am getting about 2 MPG less with the A/C on. It's still really not that bad, at least not untill gasoline gets up and over $4.00 per gallon.

So far I've gotten 23-28 mpg. Sitting in traffic with the A/C blowing really drops the milage...

You just need to get out of town more often or take that canoe off once in a while.

I can make mine do 35mpg after I clean the air filter and don't drive like a complete idiot (I drive more like a half idiot)

2009 Jeep Compass North 4X4, Sunburst Orange

Everyday as a child i used to pray to God to give me a jeep. After a couple of years i realized that God did not work that way. So i stole a jeep and asked for HIS forgiveness

It seems that 24-26 mpg is my average. I am surprised that adverse hiway mileage is not worse than 22 mpg.
