Replaced the motor. Still will not activate.
I tested resistance on the connector switch and was getting -1 on my multimeter... which isn't good. But I did notice something weird... I tied the washer lever back inside the Jeep so I could test current to the connector. However, with the washer level held back, the wipers eventually would stop... Maybe the lever is bad? I don't know where to look now. I HATE electrical problems. Any help would be awesome.
Oh also, I traced the wiring back to where it plugs into what looks like some kind of metal distribution terminal bolted to the firewall. Everything *looked* okay... unfortunately I do not have a vampire clip for my multimeter so I cannot test the wires themselves.
Found two mentions in the manual of fuses in the TIPM that had something to do with "washer"... so for giggles I popped the TIPM open, but the fuses were good. No blows.
I also went back with my multimeter, but this time had the wife pull the lever back as if she was spraying the windshield. The wiper blades come on, but I was getting no voltage at the connector (tested both leads because I don't know which one is positive). Anyway, it seems I know the issue, BUT I DON'T KNOW WHY.
Also, I mentioned that I thought the wiper lever inside the Jeep might be bad, but to activate the rear washer by rotating the wheel, I still don't hear the wiper motor. So either both switches are bad in the lever which I doubt, or something else is causing voltage to not get to the connector.
Does anyone have a digital copy of the garage service manual? I'd be willing to PayPal you some money for it. I need an electrical diagram for this pump.
