12v or 110V outlet question

is it possible to make 12v or 110V outlet "hot" all the time. it was like this in my ford explorer, and it was so convenient to charge my phone at night. i have a 2011 compass.

110v no, you would not want that because the inverter built in would be runing all the time. They use a fair bit of power even with load and you'd have a dead battery soon enough.

As for the 12V if there is a stand alone relay then it can. If its controlled by the TIPM without an accessible relay then no. I have not see the wiring diagram for the Compass. You can check the vehicle info and under hood charts to see if there is a relay. Pulling the right one will kill the 12V outlet. Adding a jumper between the hot and load terminals is all thats neccessary then. I did this in a Caravan years ago.
