Question Heavy Duty Tie Rod Ends for 07 Jeep Compass?

I have a 2007 Jeep Compass Lmtd. (2.4 L engine) at 125K miles and it looks like I need to replace the tie rod ends. They've been replaced in the past before I bought the Jeep so this is going to be the second time it's needed. Anybody have luck with heavy duty or after market tie rod ends that stand up a little better than what comes stock? Hopefully I can find something that will last longer than a year or two. Thanks.

Have a look at Mevotech. Canadian Company and they have a detailed part listing for Compass front ends.

Yep, they have some HD parts if you notice their info and some have grease fittings. With many of these not pack with some type of grease they wear out prematurely. So back to the days of old and get out your grease gun on the front end.

One would of thought the maker would have come up with something better once it became some apparent that the front end components were not standing up much more than 30,000k.
Amazing that it is only the second replacement at 125,000k.

Loved

Yeah well in my opinion they just don't get it. Qualitiy is everything, I expect quality when I put out hard saved money which is flawless and just as good at the end of the warranty as they day I handed it over. We can't say that for what we bought with it though. Where possible replacing with versions that have grease fitting would be the best even though most other vehicles have various similar components that don't have them and last at least 100k. My Caravan went 200k with all but one rod end original and I know they were greased when built. But these really cheap joints are junk although may be getting better then in 2007 from reports. Not there yet.

just an fyi for anyone who finds this forum in the same situation, i also bought the tie rod ends from moog (a little more $ but not much) at the same time to compare with these and i thought they're a little better built so i kept to the ones from moog and sent the others back.
