dont use 55w foglight bulbs

so i picked up 55W yellow bulbs didnt even realize they were 55 and they melted my fog-light housings BOO it only took 2 weeks

2007 jeep compass
2WD 2,4L
190,000 km (Always in the shop)
Recently Overhauled every link/bushing in the front/rear
20% tint on windows
Lamin-X smoked tail lights
Painted all silver interior trim satin black.
I strongly Reccomend You Don't buy a Jeep Compass!!!!

i need 2 new foglight housings they are about 60 a piece online
one was cracked anyways

my fogs light I subbed are 45 watt, says right on the package and has the same connector etc an exact sub. 55 watt is 1 amp more in current but I guess its the heat inside the fixture and if the front is plastic and not glass away she goes.

It does not matter what vehicle you have these days if you go for brighter bulbs you stick with the same wattage and therefore just buying a more efficient light like the Platinum Nighthawks I have in my GC. Much brighter than their Xenon but same power. They don't make the harness to hand more current than its designed for and something will melt or burn out eventually.

weird, ive had piaa xtreme whites 60W in mine now for almost 2 months, and use them all the time, and never had a problem
