Cruise Control Brake Sensor

2007 Jeep Compass, 4 cylinder, 4x4, automatic tran
I got stuck in a snow drift the other day. I was in four wheel drive and going back and fourth when the transmission light came on. After I got the Jeep out of the snow (with my 63 international scout sorry jeep guys), i went down to the auto parts store and got the computer check. I didn't acutally see the code, but they told me there was a problem with the cruise control/brake sensor. Does anybody know where this sensor is located? Has anyone had an issue with or general knowledge about this sensor? I haven't gotten a chance to get under it yet. I haven't tried using the cruise control yet either.

Welcome to the forum, glad to have you join us! Sorry to hear about your problem, and I must say, that's a new one on me but let me look around and see what I can find. In the meantime, though, if you have any warranty on it, I would suggest taking it in and let the dealer hook up and retrieve the code, they can tell you what it is, but good luck and be sure to keep us posted!

Well i didn't ever get around to putting it up on the lift, but the light went off on it's on. I guess maybe some ice or snow got up in the sensor and caused the light to come on. The compass really sits pretty low to the ground for a jeep, but the four wheel drive works great.

You can still check what was the code was.........the OBC keeps an history of the codes, I would check it out anyway just for safety reason as you seem to point to the brakes...........

My 2 cents !

Agreed ^^^^. I know me, I want to know what's stored in my vehicle's computer just to make sure, but when it comes to brakes or any safety device, it's something you would want to know.

cruise control

As of my knowledge, Cruise control is the speed control or autocruise..Am i right?I know that before u use it the cruise control may need to be turned on. but in some jeep it is "on" automatically but not all are enabled. It's near the steering wheel. I don't have any problem with the said jeep parts..But Be careful because some cruise control switches can cause fires.
