Trction control

Okay, so my wife and I bought a 2016 compass with manual gear box. As of 3 weeks ago the traction control light illuminates when we reverse. If the car is turned off and we start forward the light will shut off. Also there seems to be a clicking sound near the center console. I just took it to the dealer and they said it was a clock spring. The Jeep has less than 5K miles on it so is this right? I thought the clock spring was in the steering column and really didn't have anything to do with the stability circuit. . .Thanks

I took it in this morning. That is when they told me it was the clock spring. They ordered the part and said they would call for an appointment to repair the issue. I was just wondering if this sounded like the proper solution to the problem. My internet searching mentioned the traction control issues but no resolve to them. . .
