2012 Jeep Compass 2.4L Running hot on road trip

Hello I have a 2012 Jeep Compass sport 4x4 and I've recently gone on 2 road trips. One 4 hour trip and one 12 hour trip. On both my temp gauge went from its normal 1/2 up to 3/4. Before I do a coolant flush and start changing out thermostat's I wanted to see if this is normal for a Jeep compass. I don't seem to have issues on my day to day driving just on longer trips. Any advice would be very much appreciated. Thank you!

Update: Completed the Coolant flush, changed out both thermostats and found out the Water pump was starting to leak out the weep port. So I also replaced the water pump. Running nice and cool now!
