Long crank but still starts

Hello, Im new to this type of thing. I have an 08 Jeep Compass sport. A week ago I drove thru some high water( there has been some flooding up here in Ohio) anyways... My jeep fires right up when it has been sitting for awhile but if i stop to do some shopping it cranks for like 3 to 5 seconds and fires up. Now I had taken it to a mechanic a month ago because my secondary fan isnt working. The wire was corroded and not even connected. Well after he put everything back together it wouldnt start. He had messed with another wire and didnt fix it. Long story short, i pulled a relay from a 07 compass to replace the one on my 08. Well because of my job and my boyfriends we have yet to fix it. Could this be why Im having long cranks when its warm or could it be something else. Any suggestions would be welcomed.

Forgot to mention new fuel pump, spark plugs, mass air flow sensor and throttle body.

Check out this (somewhat disjointed) video I found and bookmarked awhile ago. It talks about a corroded/broken relay hidden up in the front driver's wheel well behind a shield that plays a key role in starting.

Let us know if that helps!
