How do you pop off the center caps?

I just bought some chrome wheel skins for my 2014 Compass Sport. They say I need to pop out the existing chrome center caps with the jeep logo, snap the skins in place, then pop the center caps back in. Question: do I have to remove the wheels to do this, or is there a way to pop/pry them out without damaging them, but without having to remove the wheels? This is my Compass, so these are the wheels I'm talking about: 17" alloys.

You will have to remove the wheels to pop them out. Only way I know of that wont damage them.

They don't come out easily unfortunately. What I like to do is spray a little WD40 around the creases of the Center cap and take the end of a hammer and push it out from the inside of the wheel. I never tried it on the Jeep but I have on many GMs. It may need help from a flat-head screwdriver to pry it out from the inside. If you pry it on the outside, you will definitely nic up the wheel.
