Well I have to say in the northeast it was a pretty rough winter. I slipped on some ice and bumped into a sign and cracked my bumped (antilock brakes suck) and had a question or two. Is it possible to put a rallye bumper onto an 07 compass 4x4 limited? I was thinking if it would fit and I'm getting a new bumper how about maybe getting a more masculine looking front end. I've looked on the internet and cannot find rallye bumper covers anywhere. I've done a lot of automotive bodywork and painting in my day and have a professional spray gun so I'm just going to do it myself (save me $500-800 instead of having a body specialist do it and not have to worry about insurance claim). Well if anyone has done this or knows of a place to order a bumper cover, let me know.

Thanks :)

I did find one website and they were selling the front unpainted bumper for $950, the dealership wanted $1200 for it. I think its pretty insane because the rallye option is a $2000 option and you get the front, back bumper and runners. I think I'm probably just going to settle for the regular bumper. My brother works at an autoparts store and can get me a new unpainted one for $95 and paint for $20. There is a big big difference between $115 and $1000. After market companies don't make a rallye bumper so you have to get them from Chrysler ... :/

I am probably going to get a bull bar because this will be the 3rd bumper I've had so far. Stupid brother slipped on ice and hit something (well thats what he said), and I slipped on ice and hit a sign about a month ago. The crappy plastic bumper needs some steel reinforcement.

Sorry to hear that and I do agree with you, the bumpers definitely need to be stronger.

They have put all the A/C system in the bumper near one of the corners and from what I saw once there is no protection guard. Clip the corner and an expensive repair for the A/C. This has always been under the hood in the engine compartment.

On another note of the light bars. They won't take any impack of significance. The tubing is ultra thin even if the mounts are sturdy and will buckle or fold over into the grill. It may offer some lower bumper protection in the center area but off center and corners its unprotected.

I don't know if the new front end on the 2011 has changed anything in that department. I believe the A/C is still hanging out there to be flattened in even the most minor impacts.

Jeep Compass Body Kit

This is the best kit I have found, No more than 1200 dollars for everything you need including hardware. Your trying to buy the bumpers with the kit already installed, and that will cost you an arm and a leg. This is just the kit even comes painted. All you have to do is install it yourself or find a bodyshop to do it. Since it comes with all hardware, already painted, no epoxys needed it should relatively cheap to install. I got mine and installed for 1500 even. Well worth it.
