I've had my 2018 Compass for almost a year (on Feb. 24) and a little over 10K miles, but I've had no problems at all. smile:

I've had no issues with mine, aside from a bluetooth quirk that has yet to rear it's head again. My brother works at the Dodge dealership near me, and I always ask him how often he sees a Compass come in for work. His answer is always Never...

Chiming in again. Since my previous post my 2018 Compass was totalled (no injuries) and I bought a 2019 Compass, more because I like my dealer than because I liked anything about the Compass.

So far my oil consumption is minimal and I don't get the grinding noise I got in my 2018. So really its problem-free though after my 2018 experience I'll always keep an eye on my dipstick. "Once burned is twice shy."

All things considered, I don't hate my Compass but I doubt it will ever make it onto my list of favorites.

'19 Trailhawk, around 4,500 miles. No issues yet. Breaks squeak when it gets really cold, but only the first couple times breaking. Carplay didn't work one day, that was frustrating. Just had to turn off/on the car though. No oil issues. Fingers crossed nothing major happens. But it could, you just never know. I plan to do some light off-road exploring with it, so that could change things.

The salesperson will tell you the car will climb Mount Everest just to get a sale.

2018 Trailhawk: ~2,900 miles:: often rough cold idle (i.e. vehicle shakes at idle but tach is steady); 8.4 screen randomly smeared itself with vertical lines one day while driving down the highway; ess hasn't worked in months - always charging or not available; checked the oil a few weeks ago and discovered it was barely in the hash marks; brakes are suddenly very grabby; piss poor mpg; doors buzz from bass when radio is turned up to reasonable volume; driver door mirror rattles along with radio; transmission bogs down regularly as though it can't shift, unless I put the pedal to the floor...It will be going to the dealer soon...likely my last fca vehicle.

2018 Compass 2.4L Limited; 18 months in use across Russia - no issues at all, oil consumption - normal (about 100 mL within 1000 miles). Radio sounds perfectly (with Beats speakers). I like this car.

The transmission on my 2018 Trailhawk started making noises in Oct 2018. I bought it in May 2018 with 15 mils on it. They had to replace the transmission. Then in 2019 all the interior lights went out, turned out to be a short in the passenger visor. Earlier this year the stop/start system started having issues (works sometimes)

What part of "100% trouble free" didn't you understand??? Outside of those problems you're otherwise trouble free. So about 97% I guess.

Hi FLPanther, I do apologize for the trouble you are experiencing with your start/stop. Feel free to let us know via private message if you plan to work with your dealer to resolve this. We are happy to provide you with additional assistance during that process.

Three years and over 30,000 miles with no problems from my 2017.5 Compass Latitude. I did replace tires, but I five it like a gocart around these curvy roads. No oil consumption like I have read about. Added an aftermarket trailer hitch and a K&N intake.

The only absolutely trouble free car I've ever owned was my '03 mustang cobra.
The jeep goes through less gas and tires though.
Of about 25+/- vehicles I've had over the years I've only had a few that made it to 100,000 miles without something going wrong. The good ones were a 1993 Cutlass, a 1996 Bravada, a 2008 Patriot, and a 2014 Patriot.

My 2019 Compass is at 30,000 and so far no actual failures. The oil consumption is borderline problematic but hasn't crossed the line.
