I took it to a mechanic because the engine light was on and the a/c was out so they replaced a gas cap or something fixing the light and they topped off the refrigerant for $200.

Soon after, if the vehicle were to idle in place for a time "steam" would shoot out near the front left wheel (might've just been the wind but I never got out and saw where it was coming from). It stopped eventually after doing it a few times but now I have no a/c, is there just a leak somewhere?

Also the oil light is on. I checked the oil and it appears to be over the safe line after checking it while warm and after the light pops on. Is it because the oil is over the safe line or because of a faulty oil pressure sensor? It only started coming on a month or so after it was changed at a Walmart.

The entire AC systems components are behind that front fender. Clearly there is a leak (substantial) or something blown off. Best take it back. If the vacuumed the systems as they should a leak would have been detected as air would be sucked in and the low vacuum would never be easily achieved.

Another reason not to get into an accident since the AC system is taken out if the passenger corner its hit. The main engine harness runs through the drivers side and also a major repair if that corner is hit.

The design is not practical.
