My fiance has a compass 2.4L 2wd. I am trying to trouble shoot an issue with the charging system. She had an issue where the bearing on the alternator went bad it was just making noise. I replaced it and the noise was gone, however now for about a year (she never tells me anything on whats wrong with her car) since the new alternator has been replaced the lights will dim even while driving if you roll the window up ( I mean if there up already and you roll them up to make sure or even lock the doors) I noticed this while I was driving the car at highway speeds or even at idle. The battery is less than 2 years old. I've tested the battery and alternator output and everything checks withing typical range. I have only used brand new parts (battery alternator) I've followed the recommended guidelines for everything on this car tune ups and regular maintenance. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance!

This sounds like a problem with voltage output from the alternator. It should read between 13.8 and 14.2 volts feeding the battery. The battery should read 12.6 volts or above. If the battery has been tested as good, then there is a problem with the alternator. Is the pulley diameter on the replacement the same as the one you removed?

If the voltage is high, it's possibly the voltage regulator. If it's low, check your connections to make sure they are clean and tight. Also, check to make sure there is no belt slippage.
