Hi! I'm new to this site and the information on here has been really helpful. I have a dilemma that I can't seem to find out much information on changing tire sizes. Chrysler and some tire shops are saying that going larger will screw up the "computer system" because it is "AWD" or part time AWD to be specific. I have seen this sites "alternative tire sizes" http://www.automobile-catalog.com/tire/2014/1787150/jeep_compass_sport_4x4_2_4l_freedom-drive_i.html
but wonder how accurate it is? I want the 235/60/r17 but I understand I need a 1.25 spacer for that size. Is this correct? Has changing tire sizes to a bigger tires messed up anyone's computer systems? I really just want a beefier tire and to gain an inch in ground clearance. I've also heard that the 235/70/r16 is better but I don't want to replace sensors and buy rims. My stock is 225-60r17.
