They think of everything when it comes to the Trailhawk trim, even has optional leather seats with cloth inserts in case you live in a colder climate. Granted most Compasses won't see trials like the one pictured below, but it's good to know that it'll handle everything else confidently.

All they need to do now is come out with different versions to better appeal to the market they're in. Starting at a price just above the Renegade opens them a lot to a wide audience. Plus the right packages can act as the perfect up sell.

If they can give the Chinese market a Dragon Edition then they can do something else for us

They already have the Limited, Trailhawk, Latitude, and Sport trims for the new 2017 Compass so that should cover a wide range of buyers. The dragon trim is more of a special edition trim. Jeep will probably come out with special edition 2017 Compasses too.

They seem to be pretty on confident that the redesigned Compass is going to make some good sales within the first seven months of sales. With that said, perhaps more regional limited edition Compass's could surface.

Tallon is confident the Compass will quickly make up ground and could equal the outgoing models – in just seven months of sales.

“By breaking through the (production) constraints, we can do that,” he says. “The Compass is designed, engineered and built for the global market. We think it will be a significant volume contributor, not only in the U.S. but worldwide.”

We probably won't see regional limited edition Compass's for a while, not until sales start to slow down and Jeep needs to give the model an appeal boost in certain regions. That could take a while since the small-CUV segment is expected to keep growing every year and the standard Compass should sell well enough on it's on.

But how long is the segment expected to keep growing for. Hot hatches were huge for a while and everyone couldn't stop talking about them, then they died as the CUV segment started trending.
