Good too know about the steel parts!

I also learn the “North” models are the second highest end Jeep Compass model you can buy.
The Trailhawk is very differently built. Has a so called “low Range” and lifted a bit higher.
Parts for Trailhawk are very different from the regular Jeep Compass .

Be aware of the Jeep Compass Trailhawks front CV axles. When replacing these CV axles…Most Auto parts stores may not carry this particular CV axles for the Trailhawks.
Only the Jeep dealers will have them in stock. Prices are approximately $900 plus. A stock Jeep Compass parts will NOT fit.

The average cost for a regular Jeep Compass front axle replacement will be approximately $300
Trailhawk owners be aware of this when replacing a Trailhawk front axles! Parts are more expensive.

I recently saw a YouTube video of a mechanic who was replacing the frontal CV axles. He ran into a problem, the regular CV for Jeep Compass CV is made a bit different. (Size of a part) . Did not fit.
He learn the Trailhawk CV axles is actually made differently Not sure of the year of the Trailhawk?

“Yes” the Auto parts stores all have the Jeep Compass CV axles listed are the same for all models. But ? Just be aware this mechanic was surprised too. Especially since the CV axle for the Trailhawk cost 3X times more from the Jeep dealer ( dealer prices).

The Trailhawk is different even the lift kits ? Compare to the average Jeep Compass.
Only the Jeep Compass Trailhawks have the LOW Range “Modes”. 20-1 ratio. (Actually it is the 1st gear drive). No actuall tranfer case.
