Very recently, my navigation screen and instrument panel/speedometer started to not auto dim at night. In my display settings, it is set to auto and when I turn it to manual, it only lets me adjust the daytime settings even though I have been trying to change this when it has been after 8 PM. I have been searching these forums and everyone with this problem has said the two roller knobs next to my headlight switch will work but it doesn't. It doesn't matter if my lights are on auto, or manual if the display is set to auto or manual, and even when I did a reset and reset the clock and the date. It is beyond frustrating as it worked fine until a few days ago when I was driving to work in the early morning (just after sunrise) and the screen and panel jumped into full daytime brightness. I live in a more rural town/area so when driving in the morning or late at night, the screen and panel are too bright. Rolling the roller knob down does nothing. I even have my Google maps (I am an Android auto user) set to 'automatic' so that it will do night maps at night. It works if I'm just on my phone but when it connects to my car, the navigation setting goes automatically to daytime (& I checked the car settings, too). I can't find the answer anywhere and none of the suggestions about the roller knob work. If anyone has any suggestions, I would love to hear them!!

Thank you!!
We're sorry to hear this is happening, kwansy32

Feel welcome to PM us your VIN and we'd be happy to have a further look into this for you.

Jeep Cares can you please help me out with this problem as well? I have a 2022 Jeep Compass limited with the sun and sound package.
thanks, Ryan
I need help! My dimmer control is not working anymore! Consequently, I have no VISIBLE hazard safety button (4-way flasher button) to push when driving at night after working! When the flasher is needed to be on at night the dimmer control and the overhead car light still "does not" make it visible! Took my car back right after I purchased it to the car dealer (within the days allowed) to return it since I worked late at night and must be able to push a visible button to turn on the flasher when needed! A salesman then showed me and told me what to do. He said at night to use the dimmer control to make the hazard/4-way flasher light button visible at night. He said this would always work for me in this new 2022 Jeep Compass Latitude! This worked until recently after my oil was changed. Recently, since then, many other things happening too. The clock time visibility changes when the cell phone is on too making it hard to even see! My cell phone goes off and on making GPS invisible too! And many times, my cell phone will not even charge when in the car! I am a RN in need of the usage of safety precautions in this car that should be available at my fingertips and need to ensure others have this use too! I just went to Jeep services Friday and was told to just turn on my car interior overhead light to see and push the flasher button. Advised the person telling her that the immediate use of the 4-way flasher is needed when necessary to avoid damages to the car, to self, passengers, and other car drivers nearby. I was then told to speak to a salesperson across the street from the service area. A good-hearted salesman did look it over during the day sensing the problems were real but asked me to go back when it was dark outside. Soon as I am able to be there at night, I will go hoping this problem will be addressed. The car dealer I purchased this new car from is no longer active selling this all to another dealership owner.

I had pretty much the same issue but mine was on night mode 24/7 and would not get bright. I did a factory reset x 2, disconnected the battery and even called uconnect. Uconnect told me to do everything I had already done and ultimately said there was nothing else that could be done and take it to the dealership. So I took it to dealership and that issue was fixed. They did a reset on the cars unit that controls everything in the car. Now 6 days later, the navigation doesn’t work and it’s back to being on night mode. So now I need to take it back for them to “fix” it again! Good Luck!
We're sorry to hear this recurred with additional concerns, Lboz. You're welcome to message our team if you wish to have additional support through the service process.

I have a 2022 Jeep Compass Latitude LUX. It is doing the exact same thing... being stuck in Daytime mode. The dimmer switch does nothing. I can manually turn the display brightness on navigation screen but the dash lights do not adjust so it is still too bright at night and makes it very hard to see. Has anyone gotten a fix for this? Please help!
I have this same issue on my 2022 jeep compass. No matter what I do or what time of day or night I can not adjust the screen for night driving.

My dashboard lights are not adjustable for night driving in my 2022 Jeep Compass latitude and I’ve had frequent service outages for my SiriusXM reception (channel gets locked on last channel/unresponsive.)
My jeep is doing the same thing now

Just having the same issue, it stays fully bright at night and it wont dim and the dials won’t do much besides dimming the physical buttons below the screen.
Hi!
My 2022 jeep started doing this same thing today. Is there anyway to help?
Hi niribuend and generationbeks28,

We have seen other forum members sharing tips of disconnecting both of their batteries to help. However, our internal teams are still working on a proper resolution as quickly as possible.

I just want to add that mine started this exact issue 2 days ago: entire dash is full-on brightness 24/7.. driving into work at 5AM in the dark starts to make my eyes hurt due to the brightness. I also can't keep connection to my carplay/phone without resetting the radio 2-3x a week. Do the issues have anything to do with my XM Guardian/U-Connect "membership" expiring a few days ago? (I wasn't aware there was a $30 a month charge after a year of the lease).
Hello staticchmbr,

This does not appear to be connected. However, we're happy to take a further look into any connectivity concerns you're noticing with your Jeep via PM anytime.

With mine it won’t auto adjust during the day so I can barely see the screen. It works fine at night and when I turn off the engine the display does what it’s supposed to. Any suggestions on how to fix this.
mine is doing the same thing, my screen brightness is way too high and stays in day mode and when it’s dark out, the brightness has to be manually turned down on the screen to 1 or 2. however, the dashboard lights are still way too bright when driving at night. the night time brightness option won’t even allow me to modify any settings, it’s greyed out. also the buttons below my screen (hazards, ALM, traction control, and auto start) aren’t lit up at night. just wondering when and if this issue plans on getting fixed anytime soon!
Hi Walkertodd21 and jmorales1916,

In previous posts, we advised this is being reviewed by the internal teams. However, if you decide to have this inspected by your servicing dealer for further diagnosis, our team is available via private message for support.

My 22 latitude lux with 19000 miles is also stuck in day time mode... Blinded by the screen driving at night... The buttons just below the screen for lane keep, auto start, hazard lights also not eliminating at this time.

We recognize the concern this causes! In previous posts on the thread, we advised Engineering is investigating a fix at this time. We are not aware of an exact time frame, but we'll be certain to provide any new updates on the fix as they're received.

Can someone please help me. I have been having this exact issue as well. Toggle not working and screen is super bright. Won’t even allow me to change the daytime brightness in settings. The dealerships are saying i have to leave my car for 5-7 business days and they aren’t giving me a car to actually get around it is ridiculous. I just want this issue fixed and not have to miss work because of this. The truck is not even 1.5 years old
Hi ariesnicolegee,

Hello Steph,

I recently got brand new JEEP COMPASS 2022 SPORT 4x4, and we are just moving here in Indiana. I am reading the forum trends here and found out that I am not the only one experiencing this issue with the Auto Day/Night sensor not working. My first concern is the android or iPhone Maps that is displaying at night mode even the vehicle is under the heat of the sun on my screen monitor. I cannot see the MAPS because it too dark, and we are new here in this place, and I need the GPS Maps to display on the screen monitor on daylight mode while the sun is up.

I tried adjusting the roller knobs next to my headlight switch, disconnecting the wires from the batteries, reset setting to factory default, and they are not working for me.

Thanks,
King

Are there any updates regarding this? The dealership is unaware of how to fix this issue and it’s been going on for way too long at this point for it to still being “looked into”.
Hi TaylorTN,
