I’ve had the same issue twice, exactly a month apart. Last time it rebooted itself after an hour or so. Will try manual reboot described above - starting ignition and holding in volume and channel buttons. Is that correct l?

I finally got a Jeep UConnect Representative to return my phone call today. This is what I was told, they are aware of the problem of the volume fading and setting a date of the end of December as a fix date. He said they will be sending a signal to the 2022 Jeep Compasses when they have a fix, hopefully by the end of December. Here is the number I called 844-JEEP-WAVE,24/7 and spoke with a Customer Service Agent and told them I needed a UConnect Representative to call me after I explained the issue with the sound fading and several attempts to reboot. So they made a ticket and emailed me the ticket number only after I asked them to email me the ticket number. It took them about 48 hours to have someone call me back. They told me 24 hours but it was 48 hours ( go figure). I had an appointment with the dealership and he told me not to bother as there is not a fix yet. So at this point I wanted to share what I was told and if more people call maybe they will push the fix date up.

I'm gonna update again. After following up with my Dealer, they told me the problem is some update and they have put a request for my device to be updated or by air dropping or by sending update file for dealers. in the past 3 days, my problem has been solved! now I'm not sure if this is a permanent state or maybe i just have been lucky in past three days. so I will update again if it was the case. If this is last solution i encourage everyone to pressure their dealers for the update to be done manually or by air drop.
Please advise if you were able to receive a software update of fix from your dealership? My Dealership service department in Salt Lake City has informed me that there are no recalls or updates available at this time? Has your issue been resolved? My experience has been that this is only a temporary fix... but once you drive for about 45 minutes the radio volume still fades out.

Hello Everyone,
My problem is not solved, it got a little better and there are days that it works fine for more than 3 hours but still the issue is not solved. I have another appointment at dealership for 22nd Nov. they want to document and file. I guess they will do the same thing as starting a ticket on Mopar.

I have had my 2022 Jeep Compass Trailhawk since March. It developed an issue where the radio/computer constantly turned off and restarted. After quite the fight…it was replaced back in May. About three weeks ago it began this slow fade volume issue. I had begun listening to audiobooks through Apple CarPlay. I think it is related. But, I brought it in for this issue, and luckily it was happening as I got to the dealership. The service department talked with Jeep Technical Support…later in the day they called and told me the techs told them to AGAIN replace the radio/computer. In less than 9 months I will have had the radio/computer replaced twice in my brand new car. I think there may be an issue Jeep needs to look into. Also…don’t let your dealer tell to not come in because “there is no fix”. Get it in as often as you have to so it is documented…they don’t want this due to state Lemon Laws! Being told you have to wait for an update is ridiculous since these radio/computers are an expensive part of your new vehicle and should work!!! I think I got quick resolution because I opened a case directly with Jeep Wave over the first issue. It gets much faster resolution and provides the dealer with solutions directly from Jeep corporate.
So, FYI, for this same issue Jeep Tech is replacing my entire radio/computer.

After reviewing a lot of posts related to the radio fading out, it looks to me like this is a hardware problem related to heat. Here’s why I think this:
  • The first problems were noted in the spring (Mar, Apr). Then there were no posts through the summer.
  • Post about this issue began to appear in Oct.
  • Because I was forced to place my phone above the steering wheel in order to see and hear direction, I noted that my phone was quite warm. This is not normal for the unplugged phone When I felt the plastic over speedometer, it was very warm and clear that heat inside the dash was warming my phone.
  • This seems to correlate with the use of Air conditioning through the summer, which clearly would cool the dash and components contained with cooled air.
  • It is well known in the electronics industry that excess heat does disrupt the function of electronics. The magic number is around 160 degs.
  • Since only the audio output seems to be impacted, the amplifier section (which also creates heat) would seem to be the logical place to address.
  • This scenario also explains why the problem goes away after the car sits and cools and the fading returns at a similar interval, which may be different in some climates.

I truly hope this helps some one get a fix for this. I am reluctant to go further myself and jeopardize the warranty.
Not sure I can take another 3 hour drive without audio, not to mention the inconvenience and safety risk of using the phone instead of the cars display.

I think this is a good hypothesis, but I live in Wyoming. This last day it happened on the way to the dealer it was 14 degrees and snowing. Nope, I was not blasting the heat. However, I did purposely switch between CarPlay and XM a couple times and it did seem to make it happen again. I think it is a hardware issue too…but a defect in the radios.

I have difficulty accepting that a software fix is the answer. I would believe it if someone stands up an admits to a downloaded software update that started this recent problem.
I am not aware that any update actually happened to cause this and there was no problem all summer…
