Trivia question for you.

These images are ckickable and will open a new page.

What does the WSM radio tower,,,,,

Have in common with the back door of Tootsies Orchid Lounge....

And this tombstone?

If you are not into country music don't worry about it, there is no prize for knowing the answer.
However I am working on a penalty for not knowing.

ANSWER
WSM broadcasts the Grand Ole Opry. Many of the shows performers in the olden days would go across the alley from the auditorium during breaks to have a little drink at Tootsies. The auditorium was of course called the Ryman.
The Ryman is now so surrounded by other much newer buildings it is all but invisible. If you click on this picture you can just make out the Country Music Hall of fame in the background. It's the building that looks to have a keyboard on the side of it.

One of the favorite games we play here in Nashville is 6 degrees of separation.
In other words how many people do we have to connect through before there is a connection made from the source person to the goal.

Thought we might try a game with:

Eilleen Regina Edwards, known by her stage name Shania Twain, was born on August 28, 1965 in Windsor, Ontario. She is the daughter of Clarence Edwards and his wife Sharon Morrison. Her parents divorced when she was two, and her mother then moved with Eileen and her sister Jill to Timmins, Ontario, where she married Jerry Twain. He adopted the girls, legally changing their last name to Twain. Shania Twain wrote her first songs at the age of ten. Early in 1990 she assembled a demo tape of her songs, and her manager set up a showcase for Shania Twain to present her material to record executives. She caught the attention of a few labels, including Mercury Nashville Records, who signed her within a few months. In 1993 she released her self titled debut album. Though not originally a hit it would later find success with her fans. In 1995 she released The Woman in Me. It spawned singles including the hit "The Woman in Me (Needs the Man in You)" and has gone platinum twelve times over. Since then she has released three more albums, Come On Over in 1997, The Complete Limelight Sessions in 2001 and Up! in 2002. Shania Twain has sold over 65 million albums worldwide to date including 48 million in the USA alone.

Anyway I am friends with a gentleman that owns a recording studio where Shania has recorded a number of her hits. Anyone have a connection in Windsor?
