Nev,
Everyone that is responding to this thread and the original thread ARE contributing to this community. The original thread had over 160 participants and 795 replies. This forum is about people sharing their experiences with their Jeep Compass. Good or bad! They come here for information and help with problems. All 160 posters wanted info on why their Radio's were not working and why Jeep cannot fix them even after almost a year. People are rightfully fed up with this situation. My Jeep is a Lemon. I'm not just labeling it that for no reason. Under my states Lemon Law my Compass qualifies as a Lemon. I am a Chrysler product loyalist supreme! I started driving in 1968 and every car I have owned has been a Chrysler product. Plymouths, Chryslers , Dodges and Jeeps. This 2022 Compass is my 4th Jeep. I never thought I would go through the kind of problem and treatment that I have had the last 10 months. I am not alone. Over 160 others have voiced the same concerns. I have had no choice but to file for arbitration under the Lemon law against Jeep. I am not alone. Others have already filed for arbitation or with lawyers for Lemon law suits. Also many of the people on the original thread are seeking info on how to file for arbitration. This forum is about helping people. And that's what we all are contributing. You may not like the fact that we are complaining about our Jeeps, but that is just the reality of it. Jeep needs to step up and do something. Yes, there is supposed to be a OTA fix for this that has already been rolled out but we have all heard that before. Hopefully the update will fix this problem, but for many of us the damage has already been done.

Jeep ha
We just made a decision to fix it ourselves as jeep and no one else has found a solution. We went to an audio specialist because we believe it's the amplifier that overheats and has a safety on it that lowers the sound when it gets too hot and the specialist agreed. We will be getting a second opinion from another audio specialist just to confirm before we proceed.
My amp was replaced by Jeep and it did not fix the problem. Several other people on the original forum had it replaced also and had no luck. Also you will be voiding your factory warranty. Be careful, you may be opening an even bigger can of worms.

Yeah that definitely won't fix the problem. The amplier needs to be able to handle more wattage. This is soooo frustrating with a new car! I have had new cars before and NEVER had this problem. But of course if I trade it in, I will be upside down $43,000.
I understand if you want to fix it yourself, that is your choice. But You shouldn't have to pay for the fix. You have the right to file for arbitration. What ever you choose I hope you get a satisfactory outcome in the end.

I know I have to moderate the site, but I'm cheering for you people with the radio problem. An update should have happened much sooner than it did. Just curious, when did all this start? Only '22s? All '22s or just some?
Mine started March 23rd the day I picked up my 2022 from the dealer. I think there are others who took posesion before that and had the problem. I am not sure if it is all 2022 Compass or just the ones with the Alpine system. I have always suspected it was all 2022 Compass with the Alpine, but cant verify that.

Jasmine, just like KCM mine also has the Alpine Upgrade and started the day after I took delivery! With him taking delivery in March of 2022, I bet the issue went away when using the AC, so the issues subside in the summer months and come back in the winter! I still don't believe that a software update will fix all these issues, I believe Jeep knows this and that why their waiting until spring.to give us an update that won't work!
You are absolutely right Super Sooner. In May we thought the dealer had finally fixed our problem. Never had a problem all summer. Then in October the very first time we used the heater the radio gave out again. If you look at the posts complaining of the problem in the original thread they stopped around April or May and then started up again in September or October. It is absolutely tied into using the heater. And I agree that it doesn't seem logical that a software fix can resolve that. Sure sounds like over heating hardware components. That'ss why I never did and still do not have faith that the OTA update will fix the problem.

Another question for those of you who have the problem. Is it only the radio, or does the fading affect media and telephones using blue-tooth too? I'm just curious.
. Without volume all the following are not useable

Uconnect voice recognition
Connected phones
Navigation audio output
Bluetooth connected audio
Sirius radio
Assist calling
Android voice recognition
Apple car play voice recognition
Alexa
USB connected devices

and I may have missed a few.

A few years ago, my wife was in a serious crash in Wichita, Kansas in her Ford Edge and she was woken up by the 911 person coming thru the cars speaker's checking if she was alright! I can't wait till you're in a serious crash and the automatic SOS 911 system can't communicate with you, because this audio system is not just music! What do you do with your phone when you get a call? Hold to your ear like in the old days which is illegal in most states, or do you wear headphones so you can't hear an ambulance coming from behind you? I guess Jeep needs to find more customers like you that don't give a S--t if their $43.000 vehicle has serious safety defects and Jeep has not taken these defects with any urgency or tried to fix until now. but with no-one reporting any success with a fix!
Hey Super Sooner, I think you quoted the wrong guy. Seafoamrex is on your side.

What an absolute nightmare this is. I am officially giving up and going to Ford next week, which coincidentally, is right across the highway from where I got this piece of trash 2022 Jeep Compass just 4 months ago. Trading it in for a Ford, whether that be an Explorer or Bronco.

I've owned Jeep vehicles for the past 20 years or so. I will NEVER purchase another Jeep vehicle of any kind ever again. The only thing worse than this actual car is the "Customer Service" and Jeep's handling of this issue, which has been absolutely laughable at every level thus far, including the nothing updates that have been posted on this very website.
Trading in will cost you thousands of dollars. Consider arbitration, which would probably result in a buy back of your Jeep.

I had

Rather than complaining or suing anyone, why not just duck out of it? We hate to lose people on the site, but there's no sense fuming over it.
In all due respect, ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! No one having these problems should have to pay even a penny to "duck out of it" Your example of only paying $1200.00 to trade to a new vehicle was 30 years ago! I did a little math and considering the current trade in value of a less than 1 year old Compass will cost most people somewhere between $6000.00 and $8000.00 To suggest that owners stop complaining and just take a lose is Nuts. This is Jeeps fault, not the fault of unsuspecting buyers. Any one that trades in and takes that lose will ever buy a Jeep again. Now guess what, another person that buys that jeep used will have the same problems and will also never buy a Jeep again. If you really care about the Jeep brand you would want Jeep to be penalized so that they fix the problem and make sure it never happens again. The Jeep brand is being damaged by Jeep itself, not the people that are rightfully suing to recover damages that are justified under Lemon Laws. I have had a Jeep that has not worked correctly since day one of ownership and it has now been almost a year of Jeep not being able to fix it. To be told to fix it your self or trade it in at a lose is just not acceptable. And its interesting to note that every single person that had that response on this site are not having the problem.

My trip this morning with our 2022 Jeep Compass:

Had to make a 90 mile round trip with our less than 1 year old Compass with only 11000 miles this morning. After remote starting and warming up the Jeep my wife and I got in and I hit the start button to take the jeep out of remote start mode. The first thing we noticed was that the screen was totally blank. We could not set or change any settings for Uconnect. After sitting there for a little over a minute the screen finally came on, but only showing a few icons. To get the radio to work we had to unplug the usb device and then plug it back in. The rest of the screen icons now loaded, but the radio played with almost no volume and only out of the front 2 speakers. After heading off down the road the volume got slowly louder until after about 5 minutes we had full volume. Thats totally opposite of what usually happens with the volume. We had 15 minutes of so of volume and then of course it started to decline and after another 15 or 20 minutes we were riding in silence. From the start of our trip I noticed we had no bright lights. I had the auto dimming setting on but even on a totally dark road and no on comming cars we had no bright lights. About 20 minutes later they suddenly started working. Then after a few minutes they started switching back and forth between low and high beams every few seconds. That eventually stopped and they started working again. Then a little latter I saw the blind spot indicator light up on the passenger side. Then the driver side lit up. A few seconds later they both flashed together at the same time. We were on a 2 lane road, so obviously there were no vehicles in the blind spot. When we left for our return trip as I put the Compass in reverse a loud screeching sound came out of the speakers. I thought it must be the backup obstacle warning, but I could see no obstacle on the backup camera screen. We went to several locations and it made the deafening screech every time we backed up. I purposely backed close to a pole and we could hear the obstacle alarm through the screeching sound, so I know the obstacle alarm is working. So now we have the loud screeching noise every time we back up. At least we are getting some sound out of the speakers when we back up.
