I wish I had a volume issue..I have a radio and screen that works when it wants to (usually at 7:00pm) its was working at 11:00am but I took it to the dealer for a proxy aligment and since then now it's 7:00pm. They told me the radio was blown and it would be 1 K to replace. Not sure how a blown radio works after 7:00pm

In other words, if you wanted to make a call after 30 or so minutes of driving you would have to turn off the Bluetooth on your phone.
You can't just turn off the radio? That is a double-bummer. :(:(

Several years ago my first Compass got totaled. I was riding in the wrecker on the way back to Concord and trying to call my insurance company. Don't you know the ignition was still turned on in the wrecked car so I couldn't talk on my cell phone. :( Very frustrating.

Another question for those of you who have the problem. Is it only the radio, or does the fading affect media and telephones using blue-tooth too? I'm just curious.
This issue affects any and all audio from any source going thru the Uconnect system! No audio Navigation, no hands free phone calls, no SOS system if you're in an accent. Here is my list of issues:
  • Repeat failure of the Front Crash Avoidance System by suddenly turning off the adaptive cruise control required pulling the car over on the side of the road to reset the system.
  • Multiple notices to the car owner about an Airbag Recall on the Jeep Compass were distributed but two different Oklahoma Jeep dealers had not heard of the recall. They had nothing about it on the Jeep website or at their dealership.
  • The Jeep App does not keep in sync the mileage revealed on the car screen with that of the cell phone hooked up to the car for navigating. One might say 65 miles to empty, and the other say 250 miles to empty.
  • 95-100% of trips in this Jeep Compass result in the volume of the stereo gradually going silent and other dash settings malfunction or turn off
  • In case the car is involved in a wreck, the Audio Assistance will not work.
  • TomTom, Waze, and Google Maps will not work safely unless the sound is audible.
  • Hands-free calls are not possible with this defective sound system so laws are broken and lives endangered. When people hold their phones in their hands to make/take phone calls while driving, their lives are at risk.
  • Another disappointment is Jeep dealerships and/or customer service that do not always return calls from customers.
  • Repeat problems and little to no help from some of the Jeep headquarters and Oklahoma dealerships contacted are not acceptable.
  • People in cold climates with car heaters on are experiencing trouble keeping their radio volume audible. Within 10 minutes to two hours of the radio being on, it goes silent. The system has to be re-started.
  • Claims have already been filed with a Nationwide Lemon Law Group for class action against FCA to stop marketing seriously defective new automobiles.
  • The new computer updates for the Jeep Compass cars have been postponed from December 2022 to March of 2023, by the corporate owners, FCA.

The funny thing is, at least for me or I'm not getting sth right here...
Radio problem is not actually a car problem, it's more like a broken accessory. It should work I agree but I can't remember that 160 people joined to discuss car problem a real one not the musical, like when engine was burning through a quart of oil every 500 miles. Funny times for Jeepers indeed.
So what's next, we do the test drive of new vehicle with a MP3 thumb stick on a parking?
It is fully unprofessional and sloppy from Stellantis indeed for such a trivial issue they needed a full year, but come on, I won't return my vehicle if it's riding good, I'd get an AUX cable for a $2, bypass the radio and wait for the update. It's not Tesla.
$43K vehicle and nothing to listen to! Try a 16 hour round trip with a total of 1 hour of audio...and you wonder why people are upset...smh...

A few years ago, my wife was in a serious crash in Wichita, Kansas in her Ford Edge and she was woken up by the 911 person coming thru the cars speaker's checking if she was alright! I can't wait till you're in a serious crash and the automatic SOS 911 system can't communicate with you, because this audio system is not just music! What do you do with your phone when you get a call? Hold to your ear like in the old days which is illegal in most states, or do you wear headphones so you can't hear an ambulance coming from behind you? I guess Jeep needs to find more customers like you that don't give a S--t if their $43.000 vehicle has serious safety defects and Jeep has not taken these defects with any urgency or tried to fix until now. but with no-one reporting any success with a fix!

I am an audio/electronics guy. I worked as a professional SE for years. Most heat protection on audio equipment is located on the power output heat sync and simply switches off the output. One minute it’s on, the next it’s off. I have never seen a configuration that slowly reduces output. Not saying it might not exist, but I’ve never seen it. On the other hand, it is common knowledge that silicone components are susceptible to accumulated heat and begin to break down at temps at or above 160 degree.
Based on the facts, I believe that the hardware must be modified to protect the electronics. No software will accomplish the protection needed.
ironically, the first person to report success on the “Radio” thread indicated the radio had to be operated at a higher setting to get comparable sound level. Seems like some s trying to control the heat by restricting how load you can play the radio. Yes software can do this…
Food for thought…
Hey, what do you think about this "patch" here:

EDIT: It's an idea only, fuse box is not the same.

I'm sorry if I misunderstood who made the post! But after my wife accident that totaled her almost new 2012 Ford Edge, I have 1st hand experience on the importance these audio safety systems that not only report the location of an accident but also allow the 911 operator to access the seriousness of someone injury's! My wife was very lucky and only had minor injuries but loved the fact the 911 operator stayed in verbal communication with her until the ambulance and police arrived! Which won't work on this new 2022 Compass Trailhawk!!!!!

You got to be kidding! There is no way a patch from a vehicle from 21 years ago will work on a 2022 Compass! The technology has changed!
There's still a fuse box as in any car. Nothing changed in that way.
Electrician could find the accurate scheme and maybe bypass the amp power supply like that.
It's not a space shuttle, but better don't try it yourself.

I took my life in my hands, back-in-the-day, driving cars without a stereo. Surprised I made it this far. Also I'm going to make sure my mate who is profoundly hearing impaired never borrows my car as she would be in mortal danger.

I forgot that Ireland is such a small country that long road trips are impossible! Thats why Nev can't experience the issues we have with our 2022 Compass's!
