I recently took my 2015 compass in for warranty work, the CVT transmission went out. They replaced the whole unit. Drove it home from the dealer about 20 miles, no issue, no lights. My wife goes to drive today and has the ABS light and traction control light on. A cursory google search came up saying it could mean a bad or dirty wheel speed sensor and it's something that can get fudged up when you take off a tire. Could this be something the service tech at the dealer messed up or didn't hook up right? Would the light have came on right as I started it yesterday or would it take a little while to register? Thanks for any help

Try taking the tire off and unbolting the sensor located behind the brake rotor on the wheel hub. Clean off any gunk or metal shavings on the sensor, maybe even blow out the hole with an air compressor nozzle. Then re-insert, and reset the error codes with an OBDII diagnostic tool (or driving over a certain speed for a certain amount of time may also reset it because the vehicle runs systems checks every so often when certain conditions are met.) Also inspect the sensor wire for any damage. If that doesn't fix the issue, you can also try to re-seat the sensor's connector located above the wheel well under the hood, it will have a red clip that must be pried out with a flat screwdriver to release the connector lock before you can pull apart the connector (Similar to your headlamps clips for comparison.) Check the connector pins for corrosion or damage before re-seating. I do not know where the connectors are located for the rear tires though. You may have to find that information on the internet.
