I bought a 2018 Jeep Compass latitude. Love it except the radio. I have the 5.3 small I connect that only has radio and phone controls. I knew I was going to put in a Kenwood Navigation radio when I bought it. Took it to get installed. The tech guy had it all apart and said that the firmware wire inside the compass would not fit to plug into the kenwood. He said that that wire Is not in production yet. He said they have the wire for the Jeep grand and Cherokee , but have not made the one for the compass yet. His rep told him that it could be tomorrow or it may be 3 months before it may be produced. He said the wire helps control a lot of the features such as steering wheel controls, lights and other things. Has any one else had this problem and how did you fix it. Thanks. I am new to forum.

Depends on the installer and their skill set too

Here in Orange County California there is a shop called Gold Star Audio who will take the time to see what OEM connections can be kept and re-used - they are a GREAT source for us locally.

I would recommend checking your local audio shops to see what they are willing to do for you - you might find one place that will do it.

As an example our 2017 Compass had it's radio replaced with a Pioneer 8200 NEX system - managed to keep both the steering wheel control module and the on board camera module with back up guides no problem.
