Bonjour everyone,

Does your compass's alarm go off without a reason? Mine just did minutes ago. The very first time I heard it go off was this morning (probably because of the snow -- it snowed hard this morning and it was about 10 cm. thick on the car). And tonight, it went off again, but this time the Jeep's dry for it already stopped snowing and we had sun the whole afternoon. Do you have any idea on why it went off 'unprovoked'? :(

Thanks!
:)

Mine is very sensitive, just with the keys in my pocket at work. It caught me a few weeks ago at work. I forgot I had the keys on my belt, and when I sat down, it went off. I sat on my keys (felt like a moron). I just hear car alarms all the time around here, that nobody pays them any attention anymore. But, like you, I had never heard mine, so it threw me off, but, it must not take much.

Nope, hasn't happened to me.

I did learn an interesting thing in the owners manual. Apparently if you hit the panic button you need to be closer to the Compass in order to turn it off.

Thanks! Well, I still don't know why the alarm went off just like that, but it hasn't gone off after that though. My husband suspects that that could be our neighbor's cats that have been using our garden as a toilet. I don't know... maybe...
Cherokee, our house is situated in a very quiet blind alley so imagine me panicking when the alarm went off (when almost everybody in the neighborhood was already sleeping).
Errrr... Webmaster, where can I find that panic button? :)

Get your point. Unfortunately, my neighborhood is not all that quiet, sure wish it was. Between the music from cars driving by, and the car alarms, I can tell I live in the city. Anyway, I have older neighbors, so I know they wouldn't like it too much, but I sure see what you mean.

damn never had the issue.. Maybe it is on the euro ones..

I hope it works out for you all.. Ours has never even gone off, let alone by accident..

In rural alberta, your best anti theft system at home is a shotgun.. :!:

Kinda the same system one would use in rural Louisiana, also, shotgun, that is, but in my neighborhood, a car alarm is almost a necessity, something to wake you up, BEFORE someone is into it.
