Hey everyone, I admit to creeping this forum when considering buying my 2011 Compass 4x2 (with manual transmission and the 2.4L engine), and in the month since - so thought Id finally join.

I was originally looking to buy a slightly used vehicle, but found such a good deal on my off-the-lot 2011 in January 2012 that I couldnt say no - and have been having a great time ever since. This was/is my first "new" car purchase, after 5 years of only driving rental cars occasionally (I live in downtown Edmonton and do fine commuting with the LRT). When a bum puked on the bus I was riding and it was -30C outside, I snapped and started test driving vehicles. I admit, I was largely swayed by what I consider to be the gorgeous appearance of the Compass - and after driving a bunch of small cars, really liked my little Stormshadow. I brought him home less than a week later, and we have been enjoying our honeymoon phase ever since.

Since the weathers been all warm here in the last month or so, theres been lots of slush and he had gotten pretty dirty as I drove around with newfound freedom ;) About a week ago I took Stormshadow to Bubbles for a nice exterior wash package (hey - its only me, and Ive barely got 500km on him yet, so didnt need any interior work done) and he was back to looking brand new!

Previously, I had a Toyota tercel, and a Honda Civic hatchback - I really like being a little higher off the road and having more room for passengers and "stuff". The only thing Ive modified on my Jeep so far is to have a Command Start remote starter installed. Cant wait to get a bike rack installed on the back so I can go riding in Jasper this spring!!!

Looking forward to chatting with other Compass owners :)

Yeah, Edmonton I think a 4x4 would have been a good move there. Oh well but I notice the CarWash photo. You might want to look around for TOUCHLESS carwashes. I notice the brushes and in time you see very fine scratches. A suggestion if you're not aware of them.

Enjoy your new ride and the heater turned up in the snow storm passing over.
