Apologies for the late introduction. I have been getting a lot of info from this site and have just made a post asking for some help. My family and I have long enjoyed the dependability of the Jeep Cherokees and Comanche pick ups. That being said I inherited/bought a 2007 jeep compass sport from my mother (she was first owner). This will be a vehicle for my 16 year old to drive. The Compass had a lost of rust/rot from the heavily salted northwestern Ohio road. Unfortunately I underestimated the amount of work and parts it would take to keep the Jeep on the road, but now I am fully committed. Hopefully I'm not oversharing but here's a list of what I have done thus far:
  1. fabbed and welded in new rocker panels
  2. replaced rear subframe of AWD independent suspension.
  3. new wheel bearings, rotors, calipers, and pads all around.
  4. new ignition coils, timing chains, head gasket, head resurfacing, idler pulleys, valve timing actuators,
  5. new gaskets from block on up
  6. welded cracks on exhaust manifold
  7. minor body work, refinish wheels and paint touch ups
  8. new stereo with back up camera
  9. new led headlights (the original were very inadequate) new led tail lights
  10. new tires
  11. new fuel pump, locking ring, evap canister leak detection pump, leak detection pump filter.
Anyway thanks for the add,
Matt

If you've looked over this site, then you've probably seen warnings from me and others about the frailty of the CVT. You didn't mention tranny service. If it has the CVT, it should have its fluid and filters changed at least every 50,000 miles. If it hasn't, make it an urgent priority.

Jasmine,
Thanks for that. It has been serviced regularly but since I'm right at 150k it probably needs it again. In the past I have had problem finding the right fluid. Any suggestions?
