I am a new owner of a 2018 limited compass. The blind spot indicators blink on my mirrors. I have the setting also for chime...it doesn't seem to chime. Am I missing something?:crying:

I think they only chime of you try to change lanes while the blind spot indicators are on (or in other words, when there is a car in your blind spot). if they chimes whenever a car is next to you, it would be distracting.

Hey Lindapat,

Congratulations on your new Compass! I think I can clear this up for you:

- Regarding the blinking, The Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) system may blink on and off of the side mirror when a motorcycle or any smaller object remains at the side of the vehicle for extended periods of time (more than a couple of seconds).
- Regarding the audible chime, When operating in Blind Spot Alert Lights/Chime mode, the BSM system will provide a visual alert in the appropriate side view mirror, and if the turn signal is then activated (and it corresponds to an alert present on that side of the vehicle) an audible chime will also be sounded.
