Hey guys,

My TPMS system malfunctioned a little while ago, I was able to rectify it with pulling the negative battery terminal and leaving it off overnight. Since the computer forgets how to idle and the previous driving style, does it also forget the accumulated parameters needed for the change oil message? I only put 5,000 km on my Jeep a year, so I rely on the message as to when to change the oil.

Thanks, Steven

You should change you oil every 6 month regardless. See your manual and/or dealer. All your driving parameter are lost and have to relearn if you continue to do this and will not pass safety when you have to get a test.

Just an FYI for newer Compass owners to check you specific manual as my 2014 says "Under no circumstances should oil change intervals exceed 10,000 miles (16,000 km) or twelve months, whichever occurs first."
