changing sparkplugs

I got my fuel unit replaced thanks to many of you.

now I want to replace the sparkplugs. I had to get an extension for my socket wrench but I could not turn them. I didnot want to apply too much force and break them off. Do I turn to the left or the right to loosen them. Any tips?

I have never worked on a "new" car like this before. I have a '54 Ford pickup and have worked on older cars but never have I seen anything like this set up for the sparkplugs.

thanks!

left loose, right tight. i changed mine a couple months ago. once you take the inline coil off its just a regular sparkplug instal
Yes, I know lefty loosey, righty tighty but thought these new Jeeps might be different you know...

Would some penetrating oil be of use, or should I just turn as hard as I can and hope it doesn't break off?
just turn em, good chance they have been in there since day one, so a little extra force may be needed, your not gonna break them off, it takes alot to break them.
To prevent any further problems down the road, put some anti-seize on the threads of the new sparkplugs, and put some dielectric tune-up grease on the boots when you reinstall them. sorry for the late reply! Just trying to give you some tips. Hope everything went ok

Counter clockwise to remove most items. But that doesn't help those who can't tell time on an analogue clock. They grew up with a digital clock so hands a 9 and 3 o'clock means nothing to them. ha ha.
