Hi Folks, this info is a little dated, but I found it yesterday.

This will likely explain why many people (including my g/f and me) have ben waiting so long for compass orders..

As of Dec 1, there was 17,700 compasses in dealer inventory. This is on US sales of approx 3500 per month.

To put this in perspective, the inventory on calibers was only 15,400, and they sell 7500+ calibers per month.

So the facts that:

*inventory is lower on calibers
*they are moving much faster off the lots on average
*they are made at the same factory

has no doubt impacted the production floor time that the compass has had.

Just wanted to throw out some factoids to help explain the pain so many of us are going through..

I don't know if it's still the case but there used to be long delays on Caliber orders as well.
In the beginning yeah there was - I can't say for sure if it is still the case.

They have had issues in belvidere with the robots as well, which have been alleviated for the most part I would guess..

The inventory figures are just to show that at 3500/month, there is theroetically an approximate 5 month supply of compasses, and a 2 month supply of calibers..

So I've read, some say the "magic number" is 60 days.

As I've said before though, as the massive jeep incentives to clear their 06s finally get finished (0% for 72, rebates etc) - I would expect the compass to start moving a little better.

:D
