Today was the first chance I had to tow anything for a purpose. We hooked up the gf's 275# empty Floe trailer and drove the miles to Lowes in search of a freezer. We ended up thinking we wanted a chest freezer, but bought a vertical one instead. It was a steady South wind at 15-25 both ways. On the way there (empty), the trip showed 24.5 MPGs average. On the way back, I was at 22 MPGs. Same route there and back, just wind from a different side. Without the trailer, I'd have pulled about 27-28 as I've learned wind is not the MP's best friend.

Driving the same route, without a trailer, my KL Trailhawk would have gotten 17.5 - 18. So, I'm still coming out ahead. Empty I spent the drive in 5th on the County roads. On the way back, it was 4th because I'd loose too much speed on the rolling hills.

I've been using my utility trailer pulling all sorts of stuff all over the place, and a couple trips with a nearly 2000 lb boat, have had no issues with any of it in our 2017 limited.

Its neat that the jeep notes the resistance in the trailer wiring and will let you know if its out of spec, indicating a failed bulb or a short in the wiring.

I haven't read through all of my owners manual yet but I am curious to know if it will shed any light on the towing behavior of the transmission programming. I find it interesting that there is no manual "towing mode" like many of my older trucks and SUVs have had, where you either press a button for "O/D OFF" or you put the shift lever in 3/D2 etc, we don't have anything like that on the 9 speed so apparently the computer just senses the increased load on its own and adjusts as needed. Seems to work fine though, when I was pulling a trailer with a washer+dryer+freezer on it the jeep stayed mostly in 7th gear the first half of the trip then it seemed to prefer 6th, maybe was going more uphill during that portion but hard to be sure as it was nighttime. One way or another, it doesn't seem to need any manual user intervention to know when to stay in a lower gear for towing which is good, I think, ... I didn't mind having to manually choose a towing gear or mode in my old buggies but as long as the shift programming accounts for it should be fine. Time will tell, I'm going to do a fair amount of light and medium duty towing with mine.

Nice. What part of the land of slightly higher taxes are you in? I used to live in the Cities, moved out East, then to Bemidji, now in WI.

I grew up just north of the Brainerd area and ended up finding a job after college and staying there permanently. I get to live where thousands of people scramble to vacation every weekend in the summer =D buuuut I don't have any of that sought after lakefront property, just a humble shack off the highway. Nice thing about this country is you are never far from a lake even if you don't live on one.
