My fog lights really don't perform very well in snow. I know, they are fog lights not snow lights, but I have always found fog lights helpful in snow because they keep their beams low to the ground so they don't reflect off the snow (or fog). Last week was the first time I had to drive my 2018 Compass in nighttime snow, and the fog lights reflected off the snow almost as bad as using high beams. My low beams were adequate, but fog lights that kept their beams low to the ground would have been even better.

I'm pondering a solution:
Should I put electrical tape over the top half of the lens?
Or is the light in the sky coming from the lower part of the lens off the reflector?
Anyone else have/solve this problem?

I'm thinking of trying one lens each way and seeing which side is better.
