Hello All,

First time poster.

Love my Compass. Beats the heck out of my gas-guzzling Ford F150 I traded in on it! :mrgreen:

Question: Does anyone know where I can purchase heated side mirrors for the Compass?

Funny story....I was lied to on my vehicle's Maroni report....it claimed that my vehicle came with heated side mirrors...only thing was...it didn't! :shock:

Very, very difficult getting the dealer or Chrysler to do a darn thing to back up their product/mistake. :x Apparently, there was no such item in existance for the Compass at the time and it was just a misprint. :oops:

Anyway, long story short - I still want heated side mirrors. I park outside and it would be great during the Winter to have a method of defrosting my mirrors.

Any input is greatly appreciated! :D

Are you sure you don't have them (they don't heat up very fast)?

Mirror heating turns on automatically when you turn on rear window heating. My heated mirrors have also a small "icon" on the glass, just like on heating-on/off-button.

Where are you located? What's a Maroni report?

What do you have in writing that says your particular vehicle is equipped with heated mirrors? Do you have an order sheet? More than likely your head is going to hurt from banging against the wall in dealing with your dealer.

Surely you could order a set off eBay or from a dealer (maybe in another country...?)....?

On 2007 that's a special option GTN - "Power mirrors, fold away" (undependent / not related to heating).
I have power mirrors that fold away. It doesn't mean power folding mirrors, it means power mirrors, that fold (manually). Notice the comma...

Oh, my fold manually, I was thinking of the kind that fold in when you park, by themselves.

No, I especially asked.
[GTN]= Power Mirror Fold-Away.
[GTP]= Manual Mirrors, Fold-Away.

To my knowledge, power *folding* mirrors are not an option in North America. Then again, neither is a diesel engine. Different options for different countries... Personally I don't see much need for power folding mirrors, I've only folded my mirrors about 2 times (for a carwash).

I don't (have them or) miss them either. My concern is that they could be iced up in winter night and damaged, when you start the car in winter morning and they automatically try to un-fold...
Like when you forget your windshield whipers turned on (usually when you had used them with delay-regime) and on the next morning, when the windshield is covered with ice and snow, turn the ignition key...

Maroni = Monroni

My mistake. It's been a while since I actually dealt with the issue and I forgot....everyone at the dealer kept mistakenly calling it a Maroni Report......I did research and found out that it is actually Monroni, named after the senator who pushed for it to be included on every vehicle sold in the U.S.

One of the things that bugs me so much about this issue is that if heated side mirrors can be included on a vehicle's Monroni Report, but not actually included on the vehicle.....where does it end? Basically, what I got from this ordeal was that it doesn't matter what's on the Monroni. What the heck? So, using this logic, I could go down to my local Jeep dealer, look at a new Wrangler, see that the Monroni Report sticker claims that the vehicle comes with a .50 caliber machine gun mounted on the back, think to myself "Oh cool. I gotta have this.", purchase it, bring it home, realize that I was lied to because there is in fact NO machine gun and then basically be stuck with no recourse.

Obviously, the above example is ridiculous, but I am just trying to make a point. I bought my Compass with the desire for a sunroof, satellite radio, decent gas mileage and HEATED SIDE MIRRORS. Had I know that it didn't REALLY have them (heated mirrors) I would have looked at a different vehicle or at the very least would have looked at aftermarket companies IN ADVANCE to determine if they were available for purchase after I took possession of the vehicle.

Sigh...... :(

There is a picture in the rear view outside mirrors (closer to the door side in the lower cornor. . A picture of a window with three wavy lines. This tells you have heated mirrors.
Press the rear defroster to heat the mirror.
Disappointed it does NOT stay heated very long. It was raining,I turn the heater mirrors on , maybe 5 minutes maybe 10? The rear defroster lighted button will turn off.
