So, I just want to make sure I understand my 4x4.

I have a 2014 Compass Limited with the FD1.

a) Does this mean it is usually in 4x2 mode unless it needs or senses I need 4x4 and then it automatically activates 4x4 as required?

b) If I want "full time" 4x4, I use the 4WD lock lever to lock in 4x4?

c) Further disabling the ESC (electronic stability control) would distribute 4x4 power equal to all wheels?

d) Would full time driving at any speed in 4x4 lock mode do damage to the 4x4 system?

a) ur jeep is AWD and it gives power to the other wheels when slippage accrues
b)yes u hit the switch to have 4x4 lock
c)when u turn off the ESC it stops putting power to the other wheels when slippage happens but in 4x4 I don't think it would bother it
4)4x4 driving lot time damage it no but it will wear out faster and use a lot more fuel where I live I have to drive in 4x4 70% of the time due to ice and snow I live I steep hills and mountains
