Recently purchased a new 2015 Jeep Compass Patriot Latitude SUV from a dealer. While driving to pick up speed from 45 to 55 the tachometer would stick around 4-5 RPMs and rev high. The only way I got it to stop was to put the vehicle into neutral and back into drive.

This would happen two other times. Once while at a stop sign. I turned right to go into a town. Picking up speed to get to 40 and the tachometer stuck high around 4 RPM. Once again, only way to free it was to place it into neutral and then drive.

The third time was coming out of a gas station after filling up. I turned left and picked up speed to 35 and the tachometer stuck at 4 RPM again. Same solution to stop it was carried out.

It has been back to the dealer twice for this issue but they could not re-create it, so nothing was done. I am not hard on my Jeep, just simple giving it gas to reach the speed limit. This doesn't happen often, It averages once a week. What is causing this?

Why don't you take it back to the dealer!!
Clearly you have a problem and they are there to fix it.
