Hi, @JeepCares and all!

I have big trouble looking for the pieces to retrofit the Hold and Go Assist in my Compass 2021.
Does anyone knows the part numbers necessary to get this option?
The optional system comes in the manual but, here in Europe, it does not get installed so they keep telling me.

Thanks!

Hi,

Nope. You are right that the function is exactly the same, except for 2 things:
1. The Hill only functions when the car is inclined backwards +
2. The Hill hold does not have any button. If installed it just works when the car stops on climbing. You don't go backwards when getting your feet of the brake pedal.

The Hold n go function does exactly the same on flat ground but you need to push that button first, once to engage and once again when you don't want it any longer. (not every time you stop, I mean)

Your question exactly makes the point where it is crazy not to have both functions at the same time. The system is there with the Hill. You only need to add a button and wire to connect the same function when wanted on flat terrain!

Hello. Isn't this just how the Electronic Parking/Hand Brake works? You apply the brake. Then just drive off and it will release the brake automatically. That's how it works on the Renegade. Hoping it will be the same on the Compass.

Almost, but no: With Hold 'n Go, you push the special "hold" button once, and after that you just brake; you stop and the brake keeps on until you drive off.
With how you see it you have to engage the "hand brake" every time. (This is what I do now, in fact, when I foresee a longer stop, but is much more fuss)

So apparently mine has the Hold button/feature.
I can't say I see the usefulness.
If you drive highways, no use.
But in City or else with frequent stops/starts it's a blessing. At every stop no need to hold the brake with your feet on it. Just relax and then a little gas to start again and brake will let go itself!
In my other cars I can't live without and now I have bought this Compass Hybrid specially for City use and I can't have it!
