Well we had rain overnight last night that froze and the drive to work today was slippery, slippery, slippery.

Even when in 4WD, I'd slide sideways around the corner and the ABS kicked in when trying to stop.

Winter is coming folks :) :) :)

Winter?????
80F today, 85F tomorrow

When and if it does anything around here, (usually around Thanksgiving) all we get is some Ice, and that only sticks around for a day or so.

Well the weather today was a good test for our Compass. We put it in 4x4 mode and didn't have any problems leaving our yard (acreage) or driving through snowbanks on the way to and from town. The icy roads weren't a problem either. We can't find any fault with the tires and don't plan on replacing them. Hehe, we had no problems going up the overpass on Hwy 7 and passed a supposed "real" Jeep in the other lane that my DH said was "pooping his pants"....we were only going 65km/hr too! The only trouble we had was when leaving the Confed. mall parking lot on the pure ice downsloped exit..there was no way to stop for the red light and so had to make a right hand turn instead of going straight like we wanted. Anyway, the snow depths we travelled through were from 6" to 12" (this is over the freezing rain we had the night before) with no problems. So far, this vehicle gets a thumbs up for winter travel from us! :D

So I understand you kept your all-season tires on the jeep ?

You haven't installed winter tires on it and it rides safely even in "winter" conditions ?

The 4x4, ABS, ESP and all the other gadgets must be worth every penny we pay for this truck if this is the case.

I look so forward to receiving mine, should be around december 15th. 4x4, North (Sport with more standard equipment), heated seats, driver commodities package, security package, CVT, MusicGate (man, this sound system rocks, I tried it a lot during my multiple test drives), steel blue metallic.

If anyone have a high-res, daylight picture of this color, that would be very cool of you to send it out (recently washed or not, I want to know how it looks like in the real life), either here or to my e-mail: pmonfette (at) gmail (dot) com, thanks

Yes, we kept the all-season tires that come on a Limited and they seem to be fine, with no complaints yet. We now have about 2300km on the odometer and most of that has been in winter conditions. For us, we definitely think all those "gadgets" make the Compass worth every penny we paid for it. :D

I kept the tires that came with my JeepCompass, and this morning, they paid off against another Jeep (TJ)
It's -27 degrees Celcius, snow and ice on the roads. Jeep beside me has good tires (I looked while sitting at the lights).
He tries to take off, and while he tried, I did. I didn't try to speed away, but the fact of the matter is, he just spun his wheels, and I cruised off without issue.

Felt good too 8)
