This was interesting this morning ..............................

Jumped in the car, plugged my phone into the charger cable, and the "Android Auto" connected..................or at least it tried!

I always get the message on the Nav 8 screen that the Android Auto is connecting with my Smart Phone, and to follow the prompts on my phone.

It started out with that message as usual, BUT then it didn't go away! Nothing connected! Initially, I just unplugged the phone and plugged it back in again thinking that would do it. NOPE! I tried that route again with no success. Next, I tried turning my phone right off. The Nav 8 screen stayed "frozen" with the Connecting to your Smart Phone message!

OK, so I have "60's on 6" playing on Sirius, and my daughter hates it and wanted me to put "Hits 1" on. OK, no problem..................I press the "radio" icon .................NOTHING! It's frozen too! Can't change the station AND can't change the Volume! (to try and turn it down if she's not into 60's music)

Next, I try shutting the car off. THE RADIO STAYED ON! I couldn't turn it off! Now I'm getting concerned!

I drive the car up right away to the Service Dept and pull in. The Service Manager calls a Mechanic over. "Easy fix" he says. Opens the hood and say's he'll disconnect the battery. OK, I can live with that. That should kill it! NOPE! Disconnects the battery and THE RADIO STAYS ON, WITH THE "CONNECTING TO YOU SMARTPHONE MESSAGE!"
OK ................ Lets disconnect the "Start/Stop" battery too. NOPE! The Radio stays on! WTF!
Next comes the OBD Code Reader ...................then the Service Manuals!

I decide to go for a coffee when the mechanic gets on the phone to Jeep!

Within minutes they come back to get me and tell me it's all fixed, and the vehicle is sitting outside, working normally! I jump in and my phone connects to Android Auto!

They never did tell me what happened, other than saying they are getting others coming in with issues with the NAV 8 radio.

Hmmmmmm?

I'm still loving the Trailhawk though!

Has anyone else had this happen? (yet?)

The mechanic even tried the hard reset on the radio first too, but that didn't do anything. :(

I had a similar reset, yesterday. This thing has been buggy and still remains issues with the CarPlay system as well.

The dealer “can’t figure it out” or “can’t replicate”

This is insane that this can’t be resolved.

I had a similar weird issue happen last week as well. I hop in the car...back out of the garage, didn't wait much, just got in and left as I normally do. While backing out, I got a black screen...frozen. Couldn't change the station, it wouldn't turn off, couldn't change the volume...stuck! I stopped the car, turned it off, the radio went off, but when I turned it back on, nothing, still frozen. So I drove to my destination...parked and shut it down. When I came back it was back to normal. Not sure what happened...but it hasn't happened again.

Note: I do NOT have the NAV, but I have the 8.4" in my Trailhawk

Displayed only 68* in a box in upper left corner, Radio played last station selected and at last volume setting. Could not mute or change volume or station, screen blank other than 68* in box.
Shut off Jeep and re-started…same as above. Drove approx ¼ mile and screen went blank and radio silent.
Drove additional ¼ mile and UConnect booted up by itself and all was fine. Been fine on start up since

LOL. Sounds like you disconnected the black/minus only.

I didn't notice (or just wasn't paying attention) to the 68* - but this is exactly the scenario I had.
