I was wondering if anyone else has had any trouble with their windshield wipers stopping at two or three different spots on the window? I've noticed this when using the "Mist" option and when shutting off the wipers in mid-swipe, they will not return to the parked position. They only seem to stop at full swipe and two other mid-swipe positions, not at random places. I'm inclined to believe it's a computer issue since this only happens once in a great while.

I have never had this with the Compass but one of my old cars had the problem. It turned out to be a rust spot on the wiring.

I haven't taken it in yet since I'm out of warranty. I may do so in the near future.

OMG, another early failure component on an 08. Should never fail that early and a big safety issue if they stop while driving. Call customer service first before taking it in!! Why should a major subsystem like wiper fail so early.

It seems like the whole vehicle is built from spare or 3rd grade parts and sold as a car (Jeep). I may dump mine just before the warranty is up. It just makes me sick to hear all this and I have already re & re's my share of parts and not done yet. The dealer is having trouble finding out what the problem is.

Well, I have this problem on our 2009 compass northern edition,
I drove to work, they were fine, (light mist) and today they were raining fairly hard, and my wipers just quit working unless they were on full. I checked out the fuses and found that one was blown(rear wiper and such #16)
so I was reading on another forum and they are suggesting that it is the column switch, does this sound about right to anyone else?
