Read more about the Jeep Yuntu Prototype Spied Testing in the US at AutoGuide.com.Is this the Jeep Grand Wagoneer?
The Jeep Yuntu Concept made its debut earlier this year at the Shanghai Motor Show, and at first, it was believed to preview a China-only model. After its debut, there were rumors that the production Yuntu could head to the U.S., badged as a Chrysler seven-seater SUV offering. But now, it’s appearing the Yuntu could become the Grand Wagoneer in the U.S. based on these spy photos.
What we do know is that this three-row prototype features a design that matches the Yuntu Concept, with similar headlights, tail lights, and overall profile. Our spy photographers say the Yuntu was testing with the elongated Cherokee-based mule, as well as a Chrysler Pacifica minivan and a Volvo XC90 plug-in hybrid. Considering the Yuntu Concept promised to deliver a plug-in hybrid SUV, it makes sense that it’s being benchmarked against the Volvo XC90 plug-in hybrid.
Hopefully in the coming months it will become more clear how the Yuntu will be used in the U.S., whether it’s the Jeep Grand Wagoneer or a Chrysler SUV.
