Greetings;

I have just purchased a 2011 Jeep Compass 4WD and the driver's side brake light is not working. I went to change the bulb, only to discover it was an LED tail-light assembly. I.e., there is no "bulb" to change. Autozone did a check on the replacement and they told me I would have to replace the entire tail light assembly. Is this correct? Is there no other option for LED brake light replacement? Also, would it create any problems if I replaced the tail light assembly with a traditional filament assembly instead of LED?

Thanks in Advance

Unfortunately the LEDs are part of the taillight, there is no way to use a halogen bulb. Only the turn signal and back up light bulbs can be replaced.

The taillights can be found on eBay for not much though, easy to replace.
