Good afternoon,

I have this rare issue in a 2012 Jeep Compass 2.4L CVT:

Headlights:

Low beam: left is off and right is on.
High beam: high is on and right is off.

Turning lights:

Front: left is off and right is on
Right: left is on and right is off

The turning lights are flashing quicker than normal and this happens while is the car is on and off.
It went away for a while but it is back.

I appreciate your help

Yes! They did a body painting job at the dealership recently after that the issue started to happened but given that it was "solved" while they were reviewing it they said it was not possible to replicate. This is very annoying issue. Could you help me to identified where does this BCM resides at the vehicle?

Thanks

So it doesn't do it all the time?

The Body Control Module (BCM) is under the dash on the drivers side.

Not sure if they would have needed to unplug any of those connections, but they can be a bit tricky due to the type and space.

I had a similar issue on a friends truck and when we made the connection back at the BCM - it appeared to be in and connected, but some of the pins didn't make contact.. causing similar light issues. We undid the connection and when he put it back in, it felt better than before and sure enough. Everything worked.

But to be honest, just by looking, you wouldn't be able to tell. You might want to call them and ask if they would have unplugged any connection while they had it. I don't see why for some body/paint work however..

I left the car today at the dealership, they said they will ask internally and let me know if something related to the body painting was related to it. I will keep you posted

I received the diagnostics yesterday it turns out that the TIPM, battery. Total amount: US$ 2000. Is this issue common in this model within less that 35000 kms and 4 years of usage in city?

I appreciate your help.

Could someone confirm if this subject could be related to a new stereo installed in the car? The issue is not permanent and normally the problem is solved after the car spend the night turned off. In my case, the windshields are just fine so it is not related to corrosion. I'd like to have a crystal clear understanding before starting the process to changing the part.

Thanks!
