So the 2008 Models are getting ready to come out next month sometime which means that this is the best time to buy a 07 Jeep Compass. Since the dealers are going to be wanting to get rid of the 07 models on there lots this means MAJOR mark downs on the Compass. It would be safe to say that you could get an instant $5,000 off the base price. I am going to wait another week and then Im going to go and purchase my Compass and I would say that I could get mine for at least $15,000.00 and thats not before the down payment. WOO HOO!

I dont know about that :S There's not very much markup on the compass at all, I got about $3000 off, and that was a limited 4x4 fully loaded... in Canada there isn't even too many on the lots to even bargain with..

5k of? lol .

Current incentives are (as normal) 750 back on compass with ZERO dealer incentives.

there is nowhere near a spread of 5k from invoice to msrp, so until I see dealer incentives there wont' be anywhere near 5k off.

You might see that NEXT february. even then I would doubt it.

Sweet. That means I can order my 2008 soon.

8)

Any idea on exactly when the 2008's are coming out? Or when they are available to order?

I found this thread for the 2008 Patriot:

http://www.jeeppatriot.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1367

Anyone have a similar one for the Compass?

:?:
model switch over should be in the same timeframe I would expect.
Even though the 2007 Compass came out about 6 months earlier than the 2007 Patriot?

The idea was to have both the Compass and Patriot be of the same model year so they could brag about how many new vehicles they would have in the line-up, but not necessarily to debut them at the same time, so they would still have a marketing plan, and keep things looking fresh and innovative, kind of staggering things out a bit.

When are the 2008's Available?

Does anyone know when I'll be able to order a 2008 Jeep Compass?

Also when are they going to start building them once I'm able to order a 2008?

I'm wondering if I'll be able to have a 2008 Jeep Compass Limited in my driveway by this September?

I'm looking at a new nitro and the dealers I've talked to said that model changeovers on much of the lines is happening soon if not now, with 08s showing up in august.

whenever I talk about a specific order, I am told late september / october.

Now they may be wrong, but I got the same story from 2 dealerships. You'll have better luck finding one in open stock probably in august than you will ordering.

Well you should be able to get a good price on the Nitro:

There is NOT a lot of foot space for the driver in the Nitro. It's VERY Narrow.

Have you taken a Nitro for a test drive yet? It's pretty bouyant / bouncy.

I read that article, and the relaity of it is that Nitro R/Ts are nowhere to be found, and those that have them are charging out the WAZOO for them in Canada.

I can't find any in alberta, and called a guy in windsor today and he said they got one of the last ones for the model year, which is gone.

I can order one for the friends and family rate though, which I may or may not do but it will be a 2008.

They drive like the liberty which I'm fine with, it isn't a bmw 3 series but it is fine for my liking. I am not a fan of the 3.7 motor, hence my wanting an R/T.

I've also test driven the ford edge which I liked very much. I can get one slightly below invoice but alas my heart wants a nitro. I wish chrysler had a decent larger crossover.

Chrysler is beginning to build a larger crossover vehicle right now. Currently in prototype build in Toluca. It's the JC49 project. Do a google search on it and you can find pictures even.

I think he's keeping the Compass and adding a Nitro to the family.

heck I'm ot leaving..

The nitro will take the place of my f250 as my company vehicle. I am going on an allowance.

We're enjoying the compass as much as the day 6 months ago we got it.

:D

on edit - these 2 rides will probably be our 2 main vehicles for a long time to come. The compass is perfect as my g/f's daily driver, and the nitro will be just a little bigger and my daily. Both super great rides.. I'll be getting a new dodge challenger srt8 to complete my stable early next year.
