Now we bought my Compass as the "family" 4WD vehicle for better driving in the winters here in central NY after my Chrysler 200 got totalled. Loved that car with it's fully loaded features but I started to enjoy the Compass in a whole new way.
Right away I wanted to replace the tires with something a little more beefy and aggressive. Settled on some Pirelli Scorpion ATRs with a nice deep discount combo of 3 tires with 4th a $1, $250 credit card points used and $200 mail in rebate. Needless to say I was very pleased paying just under $300 for these to be installed on. Guy at the shop told me he had quite a hard time getting them on the rims because the sidewalls were so damn tough lol.
6th week with Compass and someone backed into me at the mall
Don't care for all the fake chrome trim and figured I'll order some Plasti Dip and black it out. Started with the rims first and love the look of them. Eventually I want to buy new rims but this is good for now.
Saw someone on here put Lamin-X film over their tail lights and well yea I needed it too. I haven't put them on the tail lights yet but I did buy some for the fog lights and went with orange.
Hearing a creaking/rattling noise on bumps and slow turns, searched the forums and turns out it was my sway bar links. Replaced that plastic junk with these Premium Mevotech TTX metal sway bar links.
Spacers I initially bought for the Chrysler 200 and never put them on due to the accident. Had planned to upgrade tires and add these. Thankfully same bolt pattern they fit perfectly fine on the Compass. Before and after pictures.
With the places I go over landing, off-roading and ATVing at I wanted to add that extra bit of undercarriage defense. Found someone selling American Trail Products rear diff and drive shaft plates on Facebook Marketplace for a Renegade. He didn't have front end plate so I bought Valkyrie Front End Plate instead of ATP since it has removable sections when doing oil change. As you can see the Valkyrie plate was raw metal and already took some paint off. Probably gonna get it powder coated before winter due to the stupid amount of salt we use here.
Lastly I'm in the process of making a low profile roof rack with this Rough Country 40in Curved Light bar. Got the inspiration from Julsch who posted his on here a while ago.
Eventually I want to add gas charged hood struts instead of the hood prop, remove U-Haul hitch and install OEM, some sort of roof storage for my tools and recovery gear so I can actually have a spare, get an actual spare, Plasti dip the rest of the fake chrome and get new window deflectors.
Plastidip is a removeable spay on paint. Used to change color of whatever your painting. If done correctly it is completely peelable and leaves no residue on part painted.
Instead of buying new wheels I bought Plasti dip to change the color of them to black. Cheap alternative for now until I settle on what wheels I want to buy.
