Need Help! I have a 2007 compass. I recently went in to my garage to get summer tires put on, I was told that that I had a major front subframe issue. It was totally corroded and had large visible holes in it. When my mechanic was calling for a part price he was told that there was a recall on this part that was just released that day. I immediately went to my Chrysler dealer and had it checked, yes it is damaged and will be replaced as per recall. While doing the initial inspection I was informed that the rear needed to be replaced as well, everything needed to be fixed on the front is no charge but on the rear there are parts that need to be replaced and is going to cost me $2000. Is this correct or should all repairs be covered? my dealer has had my vehicle for 3 weeks waiting on parts etc. Is this normal as well? desperate for advice. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

You best to call Chrysler Customer relations number and open a case with them. They dictate what the dealer can cover. They can clarify the repair and send a rep to inspect the vehicle at your dealer for additional approval.

What me or anyone says means zero as to your question. Its all up to Customer Relations so call, open a case and ask for an at the dealer inspection for the recall and affected parts they're charging you for.

What does customer service say about those parts if its part of the recall process. Unless its items worn which is optional to replace.
